About us...

The Sports Jam programme has been developed to help meet the sporting needs of primary, intermediate and secondary school aged children throughout the Kapiti & Upper Hutt regions. Sports Jam works in collaboration with many sporting groups and organisations throughout the wider Kapiti & Upper Hutt regions; helping to promote sporting codes and sporting clubs.  

Sports Jam is supported by: KiwiSport,  Sport Wellington, Kapiti Pak ‘N’ Save, Waikanae Primary School and all local schools throughout the Kapiti & Upper Hutt regions.   

 

Our Goal: Increase the number of Primary, Intermediate and Secondary school students playing and enjoying sport.

 

FAQ's

  • No - We Don't do Babysitting!

    We do sports, sports games, sports skills and fun physical sporting activities - Sports Jam is Jam Packed with sport! If your child has a tendency to get bored easily with sporting activities, then we suggest that you find another school holiday program - thanks.

  • What age does my child need to be?

    Sports Jam accommodates all Primary & Intermediate School aged children (Boys & Girls) from 7 years old+. 

  • Can I book my child for individual days?

    You can book for the week or for individual days and choose full day or AM/PM. 

  • Full Day: 9am-3pm, drop off 8.45am 

    AM only: 9am-12pm, drop off 8.45am 

    PM only: 12.30-3pm, drop off 12.15pm 

  • What does my child need to bring? 

    Your child will need a carry bag with sun hat, sunscreen, drink bottle, any special food or personal medication, wind jacket, common sports shoes/trainers!

  • Refreshments? 

    Sports Jam provides light refreshments (Juice, water, fruit and biscuits/snacks). Children who have booked for a full day must provide their own lunch. All Children must bring their own Drink bottle PLEASE. 

  • Who are the Sports Coaches? 

    This is dependent on the specific day and programme activities, however, the Sports Coaches will be made up of Sports Club members/coaches, Senior Student coaches and Physical Education Teachers. Note: Sports Jam will always have qualified programme supervisors and first aid personnel on site.

  • Scheduled Sporting Activities?

    Please email us for information regarding the next upcoming Sports Jam holiday programme activity schedule.  Sports activities are confirmed on the day at programme venue however Sports Jam reserves the right to modify the programme and sporting activities as and when required – without notice. Sports Jam guarantees that children are able to participant in at least three different sports or sporting activities each day. We also vary sporting activities each day across the week – providing excellent variety.

  • What if it Rains?

    Don’t worry! Sports Jam operates rain, hail, shine. We have excellent indoor and outdoor facilities. 

  • What is Club Drive?

    New to Sports Jam, Club Drive will be held during selected programme dates which will be advised. Sports Jam participants will travel to selected sporting venues & clubs for 'Have A Go' specialised sporting activities located throughout the Kapiti region. Note: Bookings prior to each Club Drive activity are essential. Club Drive activities incur an additional cost which will be advised and some Club Drive activities have a minimum age restriction.


Sports Jam Health & Safety policy

Sports Jam does not accept children who are sick or injured this includes; but not limited to: Children with Colds or Flu, Upset stomach, nausea or physical injury. It is the Parents / Caregivers responsibility to ensure that their children are free from illness or injury prior to programme participation.
